What metals do you buy?
We buy all grades of ferrous and non-ferrous metal, including copper, brass, aluminium, lead, stainless steel, iron and steel, cable, catalytic converters and farm scrap. See everything we buy →
How do you pay?
Payment is by bank transfer or cheque, based on current market prices and the weight on our certified weighbridge. By law, scrap metal dealers are not allowed to pay in cash.
Do I need to bring ID?
Yes. Please bring valid photo ID, such as a driving licence or passport, every time you sell scrap metal. It is a legal requirement under the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013.
Do I need an appointment?
Not for small loads, just come along during opening hours. For large loads or collections, please call us first on 01845 522566.
Can you collect my scrap?
Yes. We collect large quantities of scrap metal and scrap vehicles. Call us to arrange a collection.
Do you supply skips?
Yes. We supply free 8 to 40-yard skips for scrap metal only. We deliver, collect and pay you for the metal. We do not offer skips for general waste.
What can you not accept?
Fridges and freezers, gas cylinders (unless fully decommissioned), asbestos, radioactive materials, ammunition or explosives, pressurised containers and clinical or hazardous waste. If you are unsure, give us a call.
When are you open and where are you?
Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm and Saturday 8:30am to 11:30am. Closed Sundays and bank holiday weekends. We are at Junction Works, Carlton Miniott, Thirsk YO7 4LX. Get directions →
